SUMMER'S WISHLIST
A new season, a new list of pieces I wished were hanging, standing or sitting in my closet.
Dressing in summer isn’t fun because, really, you can’t. Once the heat hits, every layer is one too many — which is why, as someone for whom layering is life, the hot season is a major sartorial challenge for me. That said, finding pieces I could theoretically live in has never exactly been my problem. And so, voilà, my wardrobe wish list for summer 2026. It’s time to get ready.
SALSA THONG
by Bottega Veneta
Back when I was an exchange student in Western Australia, my down-under sister G told me that one knows someone is truly Aussie when they own both a casual pair of thongs and a dressy one. It’s been 24 years, and here I am, still pretending, still wishing I were Australian — and all too keen to make Bottega Veneta’s Salsa Thong my next dressy acquisition.
FULL MOON CUFF
by Panconesi
At the risk of repeating myself repeatedly: I don’t do small – and therefore, Panconesi’s admittedly rather sizeable Full Moon Ear Cuff is the absolute minimum amount of gold I would like to wear on my ear this summer. On both, for that matter. Because — and yes, again, repeating myself — more is more, always.
LA POPELINE DRESS
by Vanessa Sposi
Just like everyone else, I am feeling red these days — plain and simple. And that’s exactly what this dress is.
VERANO SILK SHORT
by Staud
I had to turn ridiculously old before I learnt that, in summer, the difference between wearing white and wearing black is the one between living and dying. I was, however, a lot less old when I had to come to terms with the fact that I am not the kind who manages to keep whites — especially pants — clean for more than an hour. Which means that in summer, the more-is-more motto also applies to the amount of clothing I need at my disposal. So the Verano Silk Shorts by Staud are, in fact, a bare necessity — though admittedly one of the extra beautiful kind.
ADIA SATIN BOXER SHORTS AND SHIRT
by The Frankie Shop
You might feel tempted to point out that the Adia Set by The Frankie Shop, in fact, is an ensemble oh so very not suited for the hot season, but you might already have a feeling that I don’t really care. Some looks are worth sweating for, and this, for me, is one of them.
KENNY TOMATO FLIP FLOPS
by Senso
When the heat is on, so are the flip-flops — and, as we have established earlier, one pair is never enough. Sticking with my current love for red, it isn’t much of a surprise that I have my eyes on a casual pair called Tomato. Ok, had. It moved into my place yesterday. One down.
BOMBÉ SUNGLASSES
by Phoebe Philo
Here I am saying it again: I don’t do small. And yes, between my bush of hair and my love for big collars, necklaces and earrings of ridiculous volume, the Bombé Sunglasses will effectively shield whatever small part of my face used to catch some sunlight in the past — but apparently covering your skin keeps it from ageing further, so really I should be thanking myself.
CLASSIC STRIPE SHIRT
by Matteau
When it comes to fashion, I believe the shirt to be the pinnacle of human invention. One piece of clothing, endless possibilities to style it. This summer, for example, I can see myself in a million different outfits in a million different places in this chocolatey beauty by Matteau. Chocolate joining Tomato? Watch this space!
CHECKED SILK SCARF
by Cos
There is no end to what one can do with a silk scarf, so, naturally, there is no end to how many one should have at one’s disposal. My own collection is missing green. And, let’s be honest here, there is no way I can let that stand.
RAFFIA LUNA BAG
by 3.1 Philipp Lim
Since these days I don’t go anywhere without my laptop, and as my laptop, in fact, fits only 2 % of my bags, I own a lot more bags than I could ever use. That said, what I don’t own is one in raffia, and so, naturally, desperately needed or not, the Luna made the list.
And that, my dears, is all for now. Thanks for reading along — and, as always:
Talk soon,
Kiki
